Storm System Starting 1/11/17

Date Posted: Thursday, January 11th, 2018

We are expected to receive a storm system with moderate to locally heavy rain to fall  late tonight through Friday, and then a second wave of moderate to heavy rain will impact the region Friday night.  Between 1 and 2 inches of rain will fall during this time, and this will result in poor drainage flooding.

Most of the snowpack from the storm last week has melted off, so there should not be additional water from melting snow.

In addition, flash flood guidance is fairly high, and rainfall rates are not expected to be high enough to result in flash flooding.  Potentially damaging winds are also expected, with wind gusts of 45 to 50 mph.

Be careful during the storm!
