Sands Hotel Concrete Pouring

UPDATE 1/9/20:

Weather pending, the next concrete pour will be on Friday 1/10/20 beginning at 8:00 am.  The north section of the roof will be poured.

UPDATE 12/27/19:

Weather pending, the next concrete pour will be on Monday 12/30/19 beginning at 8:00 am. 

UPDATE 10/18/19:

Weather pending, the next concrete pour will be on Tuesday 10/22/19.  The contractor will be pouring from the north entrance off James Street.

The pump truck will be arriving at 6am with the first concrete truck arriving between 6:15 and 6:30 am.

The notices to neighbors were delivered today, 10/18/19.

UPDATE 10/10/19:

Weather pending, the next concrete pour will be on Thursday 10/17/19.

The pump truck will be arriving at 6am with the first concrete truck arriving between 6:15 and 6:30 am.

The notices to neighbors will be delivered on 10/15/19.

UPDATE 8/21/19:

There will NOT be any concrete pouring for the remainder of this week as previously scheduled.

The next scheduled pour date will be Monday, August 26, 2019.  Surrounding neighbors will be notified 48 hours in advance.

8/1/19:

The hotel being constructed at 1501 Coastal Highway (the former Sands Hotel) have given us their first concrete pour schedule.  The concrete is scheduled for Monday, August 5, Thursday, August 8, and Friday, August 9.  Rain may delay these dates. The process will begin at 6:30 am when the first concrete truck arrives on sight.  At 6:30 am they will prime the first truck and at 7:00 am they will begin a full pump.  The trucks will be on sight each day for 4-5 hours.

Surrounding neighbors will be contacted by Friday, August 2 regarding the pours.  

The hotel contractor, Harkin’s, expects to have five trucks staged at the Chamber of Commerce.  Traffic will be stopped occasionally, but flaggers will be present to assist with any traffic.

DelDOT has been notified, along with Bethany Beach Fire Department.  Also, an extra duty police officer will be on sight to assist.
