OFFICIAL NOTICE OF ELECTION CANCELLATION
The candidate filing period for the 2026 Town of Fenwick Island Municipal Election closed on June 18, 2026.
Three Town Council seats were available this year, and two qualified candidates filed by the official deadline:
• James Simpson
• Behrooz Garavi
As the number of candidates does not exceed the number of seats open for election, an uncontested election has been declared and no formal election will be held on August 1, 2026.
The Board of Elections has certified the candidates, who will be sworn in and take office following the Town Council Reorganization Meeting in August 2026.
Pursuant to the Town Charter and Code, the remaining vacant Town Council seat will be filled by appointment of the Mayor and Town Council following the Reorganization Meeting.
