Fenwick Island Police Department Earns State Accreditation

We’re proud to share that the Fenwick Island Police Department has officially earned state accreditation through the Delaware Police Accreditation Commission (DPAC)!

This recognition means our Police Department meets over 100 professional standards that focus on community trust, officer safety, training, and consistent procedures. The accreditation process included an in-depth review of the department’s policies, operations, and facilities by DPAC assessors.

Chief Michael Morrissey and the entire team worked hard to reach this goal, showing their commitment to professionalism, transparency, and the safety of everyone in Fenwick Island.

Accreditation also benefits the community by:

  • Strengthening public trust

  • Improving officer and public safety

  • Promoting clear and consistent procedures

  • Ensuring accountability through regular reviews

Fenwick Island joins Camden, South Bethany, and Wyoming Police Departments in earning accreditation this year. Delaware law now requires all police agencies in the state to be accredited by 2028.

Congratulations to our Police Department for this important accomplishment and for their continued dedication to serving and protecting our community!
